Default Advice on buying WRX...please :-)

Looking at spending 5k-6k on an 01-03 plate WRX, after something lower mileage (50k?) and pretty much standard.

I can only use normal unleaded, have no access to super. Should the WRX run ok on normal unleaded? If I bought a PPP would this be ok on normal or is super a must?

Just wanted a bit of advice, what to stay away from, what I can expect to get etc. Car will be daily driver, not covering too many mile but good roads to push it a little.

Appreciate any advice!

Cheers,
Justin

Live in the Shetland Islands and the only garage that did stock it have recently stopped. There is a cal for it up here but not enough to justify them filling the tanks I guess!

Had looked at octane boosters but general advice I've got is that they are only really beneficial when used with super, not much use with normal.

Cheers,
Justin :-)

A WRX should be fine running on normal Unleaded 95 Ron. I dont think you will get near the full potential performance wise with a PPP unless you're running it on Super unleaded though.

PPP requires minimum of 97 for optimum performnce. Standard UK WRX will run on 95 RON. Bob

you could buy whateve you want but then take it and get it remapped for whatever fuel you'll be putting in it. So PPP would probably be a waste unless you want the exhaust.

Personally i'd also wait for an STI but then get it mapped for 95 fuel!
