just wondering as i got a mate whos got a V ltd wrx, its got V3 on the seats but is a 2 door and its got the later dash ?

its got a V3 grill though

Yes, a WRX Type-R. It has an applied model number which implies its a Type-RA, but the engine code is plain WRX.

Theres only one vehicle it can be, but despite the status suggested by the AMN, it isnt a Type-RA, nor was it marketed as such. It was a WRX in a Retna bodyshell.

The info on them is a bit sketchy to be honest. Leon's car had a VF22 turbo fitted but that may have been aftermarket. As Simon (GC8) says they were the same as the WRX but in a three door shell.

 

In fairness to Leon, there was even less information available about these cars when he stated that his was a two door Type-RA and the applied model number does follow a convention that implies a Type-RA with two doors. The two that Ive been able to look at closely both had engine codes which implied that they were WRXs: and that has been confirmed recently on here by someone linking to the Type-RA website, which now has first hand information from Japan.
