hi, im trying to connect my plasma to my pc VIA DVI to HDMI and it allows me to get the settings set,,,, but when i change the channel to HDMI i get no signal and the computer refers back to the monitor ONLY setting !

anyone got ideas why this is happening

the HDMI to DVI is 10M long,,, would that be the reason or not ???

Sounds like it to me, with hdmi you can use cheap cable and not lose quality but anything that is a long run you really do need to have good quality to maintain the signal.

I would buy a hdmi lead as you get better lengths and far more choice of cabling not to mention better quality.

I would buy something like this then use a dvi/hdmi adaptor, a good one not what came with your graphics card profigold are well regarded.

what resolution and refresh rate did you set you graphics card output to ? Also do you know what the native resolution of your tv is ? 10m will be fine for a hdmi cable. One other thing what graphcs card are you using ? if it has an analoge dvi connector, that wont work with hdmi.

If you are outputting silly high res and your TV can only handle 1024 for example then it will not work. Change your computer desktop res to 1024 and try again.
