How would wiring in an electric boost gauge differ from using a autometer gauge that uses a vacuum tube?

There's not that much difference really, it all works along the same principles

Like you said, it's an electrical sender, so a short hose length to the sender and then a longer cable to go from the sender to the back of the gauge. The cable and hose are supplied.

You also need to get a constant live power feed to the gauge, one for dash illumination, ignition and an earth. It's got it's own little harness, but you need to splice it in somewhere in the cabin.
