Default WOULD YOU FIT THIS?

My new flywheel came the other day and im a little concerned about how much metal has been removed from the flywheel to lighten it. iv never seen a flywheel drilled in between the centre and where the clutch plate sits.
Iv had 2.5 conversion so its far from standard power so do you think this flywheel will last

i would not personally touch it, they couldn't even get the holes evenly spaced,, as for the back it should be dished out, who did it for you? i know of place that does them properly and for a sensible price, and not give you something dangerous

1st off i'm no expert but that looks crap to me to put it bluntly! the holes drilled around the centre are not even drilled even!unless its a bad pic? where did it come from? my steel fly wheel is very light and the holes are not that close together, i can understand your concern and would definately want an experts opinion

THAT IS DANGEROUS. AS SAID, BOLT HOLES ARE NOT =SPACED ON PCD (BALANCED?????????).CAST FLYWHEELS SHOULD REALLY ONLY HAVE MASS REMOVED FROM OUTER PART OF FLYWHEEL TO HAVE MAXIMUM EFFECT, AND RETAIN STRENGTH. DO YOU WANT IT LET GO AT 6K REVS?????

Removing weight from the centre serves very litte purpose if any and as said above the workmanship looks questionable. I would put my money towards one from a known source thats proven. You realy don't want something like this to fail on you!!!!!!

I'm no expert in drilled/lightened flywheels but some of those holes near the centre are very close and would weaken the flywheel considerably

We do aftermarket, purpose designed, fully forged lightweight (not 'lightened') flywheels which are far lighter than the original, whilst being exceptional strong.

They are £195 for 6kg ones and £265 for 4.2kg ones.

don't worry about it the main thing is that you sought advice and got it which could of saved a potential catastrophe, and thousands of pounds worth of damage and possibly your legs.

That's gonna fly apart the first time you give it a hard start or try a bit of hard engine braking. Apart from the fact that you remove weight from the outside edge rather than the inside, it's not even done right. If that was a GCSE metalwork project it would score an F. Send it straight back and get a refund and if they quibble say you've had an engineer look at it and pronounce it dangerous.

They used to use something like that in the forces. I believe they were called " grenades " or something like that.

Don't use it, it looks very dangerous and when [ not if ] it does explode it is very close to your ankles.

How many of these were for sale? If its more than one then other purchasers need to be informed.

As mentioned in other posts that is a serious injury waiting to happen

You should be able to return it via Paypal. Just make sure you keep tracking numbers.

Why are people taking chances with drilled out flywheels just to save a few quid?

When you start to modify any material you will be affecting the strength of it , and that looks like very bad workmanship - and would not last 5 mins !

Send it back and get your money back and go for a forged lightweight one .. not too light though as it will slip .... about 5.7k??

why not post the ebay link to warn others

is it just me or does it look like it has been crushed/damaged on three edges??

Looks like he is selling a few of them.

You can now leave negative feedback for an item on ebay without fear of the seller doing the same (no option for seller to leave neg feedback for paid item).

If you need a proper forged flywheel https://www.scoobynet.com/private-sa...brand-new.html

i think he should accept its no right also the fact that he is saying they are new and he is quite clearly buying them off of ebay to resell them also the the picture in the listing is vastly different to the one you received which on its own is grounds to get a refund.
