Talking 2wd GEARBOX CONVERSION

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible to convert an Impreza gearbox to just rear wheel drive? I am gathering research for a subaru powered project i'm contemplating! If so is there a kit required/needed. Cheers guys

There are single seaters running the scoobie engine mid mounted and a hewland transaxle. That means there must be at least some bellhousings / adaptors around to mate the two. It would certainly handle the power OK, they're good for over 600bhp in some ex-F1 engined hillclimbers.

If it's front engined mre complex but you could do the same with a torque tube (engine speed propshaft) between them.

Got a friend who got a JDM STI v3 type R, driving the norwegian drifting series with the car.

he first got the 5MT dccd box with inserted 2wd cartridge, removed front driveshaft, and 2way Cusco rear diff. Was not reliablie.

Box was then replaced with a 3mec 5mt transmission converted to the boxer engine, lasted much better, but not 100% good for drifting abuse.

Preza should be 4wd. If its not 4wd drifting, get mor power
