hi all, used my car this morning and the airbag warning light is on. it is a 98 v4 sti, standard apart from cat back exhaust and filter. last used on saturday and had no problems then, and no bumps or crashes since. is there anything to check for or replace. many thanks in advance.

 

Is there a big white thing made of a thin material hanging loosely out of your steering wheel, like a big burst balloon? If so, there's your problem. If not, hope someone else can help.

 

like i said, no crashes or damage

 

if the red airbag light is showing, theres a fault with the air bag or a fault with the sensor. Either way get it seen to ASAP.

 

Had this on a Clio yonks back - turned out to be a break in the wire going to one of the seatbelt pre-tensioner thingys

 

yes check the pre-tensioner under both front seats i think or ring on the steering wheel
