Default setting rev limit sti 05

6k seems to be about the correct setting reading through past threads? any advances?
I pick mine up next sun and want to change it for the drive home ;-) I think its set around 4.5k currently. People talk of turning a dial and setting bleep etc can anyone explain where it is? any pics?
my final question is.... is it just a guide or is it an actual rev limiter?

Mine's an old one... but it's a guide not a limiter !
There is a "stalk" sticking out that needs pushing/twisting with the ignition on but not running IIRC

HTH

Don't use mine to be honest. You basically turn it left or right from memory to whatever number you want the light to come on at, then you can turn on the buzzer or just have the light alone i think. As dunx says, it's just a guide.

twist the left **** right well engine is running then turn right and hold and set to level you want. i have mine set to 68 then wait a few seconds then should go to if you want the buzzer on or not and just turn **** to the right if you want it to buzz

Unless re-mapped (for extra fun) I had mine set at 6000 rpm, as more revs equalled no performance improvement....
Now re-mapped it pulls like a train to the limiter, NICE !
