22b is by far the best classic.
however if you havn't got the 20+ grand for a decent one then second best is prob version 6 sti type R

STi Type RA without a doubt, point to point bullit machine. If you like your 3 doors then it has to be the Type R V-Limited but...
If I had the cash, it would have to be the 22B

In all honesty the standard turbo 2000 is the best.
It holds it value better than any import,
Its still bloody quick,
Looks great.
RELIABLE (if standard)
dont need expensive remaps for our ****ty fuel,
cheaper to insure.
The list could go on and on

The most sought after and prized classic scooby is, without a doubt, the 22b.
As for the best....matter of opinion!

I've got a Turbo 2000 and don't really agree with u, no scoob holds its value but i would say a Type R holds its money better than a UK turbo.
Not really what i would call "bloody quick" either a standard Uk turbo isn't really any quicker than a Clio 182 or CTR. They are fairly reliable if standard and generally cheaper to insure though.
Best classic's IMHO:
22B
V5/6 Type R
