Rusty engine components?!
Hi all,
My 98 UK has a number of rusty bits in the engine bay, some metal pipes, the mounting bracket for the boost solenoid, the bolts on the coolant tank, power steering fluid container etc etc...
Am I the only one??
Also, what is the best thing to use to remove this rust? Wire brush and elbow greece or some form of cleaning agent?
How do I protect it again?
Cheers
Simon

Mine was terrible too.. I removed most of the brackets (boost solenoid, alternator, belt covers etc. etc.) blasted them and repainted them..
You wouldnt believe this was a 101,000 mile engine bay:

So glad I am not alone!!! My 95 WRX was so clean in comparison. I thought nothing of it but looking closer I just found so many rusty little bits!! Nothing serious like bodywork, but bolts and pipes etc...
I just want a nice clean engine bay!
