Anyone help???

I noticed 3rd gear this morning was make a funny grinding nose...... got worse though out the day and now can't use 3rd gear!!! it sounds like theres a spanner in there banging about.

The other gears are ok but starting a grinding nose too.......

Now what do i do?????

have you checked the Oil level of the transmission lately ?

Sounds like a shagged bearing or a plucked tooth. If you carry on driving the car, you might knacker the whole 'box.

Get a man in to look at it.

How do i check the Oil level of the transmission?

Anyone know if Scooby Sport could help??

Use the dip stick, just to the left of the intercooler. it's a black handle with a loop on the end.

I think it's probably a bit late for checking oil levels by the sound of things.

Stop driving it, we have a customers car in for gearbox repair, (lost 2 teeth from 3rd gear). He kept driving it, managed to screw up 2nd gear, shynchro hub, crown wheel & pinion. (BIG bill).

O and my car was going so well, 13,000 miles in 6 months and not a problem!!!

Mike can i ask? whats a big bill??? (can you fix it cheap or free for me please?) :-)hehe

I dont think a STI IV Gearbox will work unless i change the diffs..........
