Went to deliver a Xmas card today to one of my friends. Arrived at her house to find a large chunk of her front concrete fence missing.

Story goes.......
Drunk driver takes corner much too fast and smashes though afore mentioned concrete fence.

My friend runs out to see him reversing car out of her garden and runs out of her gate to get his number at which point he mows her down and drives off!!!!!!

Eventually after crashing into various cars & other property he is caught by the police.

By this time my friend has been taken by ambulance to the local A&E unit.

She is home now & VERY lucky to only have severe cuts, bruising and a few stitches.

It turns out that the driver was many times over the limit, is disqualified & driving a stolen car, thus not insured.

So not only does my friend have the phisical & mental scars of such an ordeal, but she now has to stump up and pay for a new concrete fence. Now this guy is looking at going down but why should my friend have to pay for this scumbags fun?

Where is the justice in that?

I would urge your friend to consult the criminal injuries compensation board.

I'd guess she stands a good chance of getting a pay out.

Similar thing happened up near me....

Maniac driver in a Vectra doing about 60mph in a 30 zone, tries to overtake a car on a bend and loses control whereupon it spins, mounts the pavement and hits a brick wall backwards. Demolishes the wall and leaves rear bumper behind. Even scarier is that two young girls were walking along the road and had just crossed over - if they had still been walking on that side, he'd have gone straight into them. As owners of house come out, the car drives off in opposite direction...

Eventually, a driver comes from the direction the car left in and tells the owners of the house that the driver has parked his car in a car park half a mile up the road (where it's leaking petrol) and is walking back down to them.

They wait. And wait. A couple of people walk past but no one stops. Finally a women pulls up in a car. It's his wife. He was one of the people who walked straight past the house and he's now sitting at home "in shock". Nothing to do with the fact that he's come from a bar and doesn't want to be there when the police turn up...

Oh, and the police didn't turn up for two hours, so he probably got off scot free...makes you sick.

The other one is the Motor Insurers Board - set up to provide a fund for innocent people against un-insured drivers. Sounds like a good case to me.

My wife will be quite happy to sue the to$$er for your friend Email me if interested, she specialises in PI & RTAs.

(The MIB in turn will hound this guy until they get their money back )
