Angry

As the search facility is now gone, I need to pester you all once more about insurance.

My renewal quote from Catteralls has jumped up £500 this year to £1170.

So as per usual, I'm looking for a cheaper quote, any and all assistance would be appreciated.

TIA

PFF

Thanks guys.

Meant to say on original post that Catteralls had the cheek to say that if I renew 7 days before renewal date they would knock £10 of the price.

AXA was the company Catteralls had insured me with. Their quote was £1500.

Scoobynet could do with a list of useful phone numbers as these sorts of questions often appear. Maybe in the FAQ section.

Just a thought.

Simon (Mr Cookie,

My insurance has increased from £1,500 last year to £2,700 !!!!!!!!!!!!

Car may have to go into storage as I cannot find a buyer.

Still in three/four years time I will have a great looking 1994 WRX.

PFF,
I was exactly the same as you I was with cateralls last year, and my quote was uncompetitive this year from them.

I would have taken the web policy had I known about it. Its direct dont forget, not through a broker. Something may have changed so that Cateralls are not competitive through AXA this year, I do not know.

Ive found with insurance to try anything anyone suggests, insurance defys logic sometimes, and thats from someone who works in the industry. Youve got nothing to loose by trying, but cash to loose if you dont.

Another vote for Axa Direct. 180 quid cheaper than the nearest...

As an aside and info for Robski: if you take insurance out over the phone, you have a 14 day "cooling off" period where you can choose to cancel the policy due to its unsuitability for no financial penalty. So, if you do find a better quote within 14 days, you may find that your previous insurance wasn't quite suitable ...

I had to phone Axa as car is modified (back box and audio) and I wanted business usage. I phoned 'em around 5 times to check things like "bonus *is* protected", "you've listed the car as a turbo", "modification is ok", "european import fine", "really business use", "only 250 quid excess" as it was too damn cheap.

Karen at NFU was the best quote. Got it back down to £700, so I guess that's the policy for me.

Axa Direct were around the £1000 mark.

Thanx again guys.
