Default universal lamba

is there anything special about the lamba sensor on the 02 sti,the reason i ask is because no one lists a aftermarket unit only the universal ones.so i thought there may be something technically different with the oe units?if not as anyone used a universal one on a new age car, does it work ok ,or had any problems.thanks dean.
