rebuilding my engine at the moment/ 95 sti ra ,,i will be adding goodies -
20g,,, fmic,,,550 inj,,,there is already a 3 port solinoid. but want to fit the 3 bar map sensor....how would i know if there is already one fitted,,,,what and where is it ,,,,,,,,,,,,

It's on the same bracket at the 3 port, but right in the corner of the strut tower to inner wing. Small black plastic block with Denso written on it, a single vacuum hose joins it to the brown solenoid on the same bracket.

I presume you are changing the ECU if fitting a different MAP sensor.

yes mate, will be fitting apexi +comander +remap at some stage, when funds allow

 

In that case the 3bar MAP sensor won't help you, the PowerFC is only configured to use either the OEM map sensor you have now or the sensor that comes with the Apexi boost control kit.

You could do everything except the injectors and the std ecu will cope, just keep it off boost.

Who is mapping it for you? Depending on who it is there may be cheaper options than a powerFC+AVC-R.
