Default WR1 - Fuel pump control assembly died ??

Having a few running problems lately, generally running rough/irratic idling at standstill & spluttering on start up. Also had the engine totally cut out on me whilst doing 45mph but managed to start it again without getting shunted!!
Engine light came on so had the fault diagnosed at KT Greens as `Fuel pump control assembly` needs replacing & gonna cost £250 !!
Only just out of warranty, got 13k on clock & serviced 3 wks ago so went for the `good will gesture` but not having it at Subaru!
Anyone else had similar problems or any ideas if anything else might need looking at as I`m not very technical??

Any advice much appreciated !

It just so happens that I've got a newage STi fuel pump controller in my spares bin.
Your welcome to try it to see if it is the cure.

I thought you weren't happy at spending £250 plus labour and I'm offering the same solution as KT for peanuts
If I get it to you for Thursday with fitting instructions then it takes about 30 mins to fit.
If it works then you've saved all that money. Cancel KT for the weekend.

If it doesn't work then again cancel KT as they are doing the same thing I am offering.
Isn't that worth a punt?

Nick

Thanks for the generous offer mate but I wouldn`t know where 2 start when it comes to fitting parts!!
At least if they fit the part & it doesn`t solve the problem, they can take it off & find out what the problem is as it`s dangerous to drive currently with it cutting out when it feels like it !!
Much appreciated tho !
