adjusting clutch on manual non-turbo Impreza - help please
I've had a look, and it looks like a cable clutch that runs to clutch actuator (which has adjustment).... but then cable runs to hydraulic cylinder.. I'm confused...
I want to adjust as it's biting 1-1.5" from top of travel... I have searched (honest)...
Is it cable or hydraulic (or hybrid ?) and can you adjust ?

on the sport,it should be cable operated,can never say 110% u have a cable operated clutch without seeing it tho,many people to many mods,but 99% it is a cable operated clutch.
the sport has a system on it where you can,let me remember,push the clutch pedal down then release then back down and it will not roll down hills,cant remember as its been a few yrs since i had a sport,maybe this is where ur getting confused with the extra parts to your clutch.(piping/cable go to brake pipes etc)
but to adjust, just the same as any cable clutch on a car really.

just thought I'd add the 'fix' in case others search in future.
I adjusted clutch by 'slackening' the cable by just 1/8 inch. The biting point is now ~1 inch from fully depressed. I don't know if this means disc is worn, or it was just poorly adjusted when I purchased.
In any event it drives nicely and doesn't show any signs of slipping

I know this is an old thread but im having major problems getting my clutch to bite correctly...
I have a 99 GL Wagon 2.0
The clutch is cable operated by the way of 2 cables 1 std and the other works in the opposite direction connected to some kind of servo spring actuator.
Please can someone advise me the correct adjustment procedure as in 3rd n 4th at above 3k the engine revs increase with little acceleration then by its self the revs drop and pick up again and the engine speed increases.
It sounds like an automatic gear change, there is no smell of slipping clutch.
Could it be the HI/LO lever cable that needs adjusting?

My clutch on my gx is hydraulic but has the cable attached to the hill start function. This operates only when you have fully depressed the brake pedal aswell as the clutch pedal.
