hi all i am just after a bit your knowledge, the engine mangement light came on on my 52 wrx. a friend of mine has some diagnostic equipment and it came up with "misfire in cylinder one detected" my friend told me it could be just a one off thing, so turned the light off and to keep an eye on it. has anyone encountered this problem before, was it a big problem? also which is cylinder one if your looking at the engine from the front.

my mates 51wrx got a misfire (CEL came on ) on 95 ron when the spark plugs needed changing

 

Its the neutral position switch on the gearbox, its a known problem.Shows a misfire on cylinder one.

My old MY01 had it twice, replaced the switch under warranty and never had it again.
