Exclamation Newbie with decat question.

Hi Guys

Today I took my wagon to the exhaust center to have a decat center section fitted... all went well with only a small outlay needed so the chap in overalls could get a drink after etc...

He told me that it was not very safe for the car to be driven without it needing a remap??....he said it might end up with the pistons burning out!!!. ...but said it would be ok if I took it easy and looked at a remap in the next week or so...

She is totally standard apart from the new decat and an induction kit, drives lovely now compared to before .....would I need to get her booked in for a remap of the ECU to prevent this damage or should she be ok?........

Oh I run her on 97/99ron fuel only on every fill if that makes a difference?

So I should be ok..... would the fuel not be leaning out etc?
