As I wont be able to afford alloys for my Impreza 1.6GL for several months, I need two new tyres for the rears.
Tyre size required is 175/70/14.
As I have Dunlop SP200 on the fronts, it makes sense to have the same on the rear (I dont at the moment), these will be £64 each from ATS.
Are these any good? I dont think my car grips as well as my mum's Impreza 2.0 on Michelin Energy.
Any advice apreciated.

Why dont you upsize your tyres to 195/60/14. You should keep the same rolling circumference so it shouldnt effect your speedo. Check with a tyre dealer but i think im right.
Then you can get some decent 60 series rubber.
If your subaru can fit that size, then you should go for it.
if you do...then make sure you change all 4 tyres

I had Michelin Energy on my previous car (Pug 306) and they are useless, so your current rubber couldnt be much good.

Done a bit of searching online for the Dunlop SP200.
Have found them at £52 each fitted from http://www.tyres-online.co.uk/.
Can anyone recommend any other online tyre dealers? (Search still down sorry)

Try Tyres Northampton £ 42.30p incl Vat valve & Balance, they do mail order as well so may well be cheaper. A bit better than £ 64.00

Obviously it pays to shop around!
I'll have a look around locally to see if anyone can match Tyres Northampton's price, saves travelling from N Wales and then having the hassle of getting someone to fit tyres they havnt supplied.

Anyone know of a good tyre dealer in North Wales or Chester area?

Had the SP Sport 200s on my wife's Carina E (O.E.). Changed them to Pirelli P4000s - much more grip (boy does the car need it) and seem to be wearing ok.

IMHO
**** me £ 64.00 each! - my Goodyear F1's 205 50 ZR16's for my Turbo where only £ 80.oo each!
175/70/14 is a common enough size, shop around!

The Michelins are probably a better tyre than the Dunlops and should cost you more, Michelins always seem expensive (to me).
