it now appears that my EU supplied MY07 WRX has had it's 1000m service done unnecessarily, the maintenance schedule shows 'empty' boxes at 1000mls & 3000mls, the first oil & filter change are listed at 9000mls or 12months. For cars 'other than' europe, the first service is indeed 1000mls. confusingly the service booklet has entries for 1600km and 5000km...The service booklet, on closer examination, is a generic subaru booklet, and is not specific to the impreza models, so it seems the first 2 stampable entries are to be ignored for my car. (i would rather have extra oil services, than less, but am afraid to have these stamped on the service booklet as it could affect the warranty)..................the impreza handbook containing the maintenance schedule appears to be a standard issue book and not specific to a certain country, it has the code 'A1920GE' on the back cover, so it seems that all new european imprezas have the same service schedule regardless of country of origin........................as clear as mud. i think.
