Happy New year all...

right, new year, New wheels required (b4 all the tread goes on the original tyres..)

car...MY00, DBM turbo 2000 WAGON.

so before I start looking, I have pretty much decided on 17 's, but haven't a clue what to go for, thinking of multi spoke style etc, think I'd prefer to stick to silver alloys, but don't know what widths etc to aim for, nor the correct tyre size etc (thinking bout toyo's at the mo!) to maintain same rolling radius ( or whatever it is )

so basically, anybody got any pic's, any suggestions, any websites etc worth a look......oh yeah ,and any good deals begotten on tyre & wheel combinations....anything really....

also, want to cut down on brake dust, (save a bit of cleaning time !), does changing the pads to the greens or whatever lessen the amount of grey dust created?

trying not to sound too stupid.....

rob.

EBC greens give very little dust compared to standard pads...

Rob

Remembering back to when I had an MY00 UK Turbo, I think the 17" tyre sizes will be either 215/45/17 or 225/40/17 (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong). As regards wheels I had the 7 spoke Racline RL7s in anthracite and they looked great . OZs are also very nice but expensive. IF you want some cheaper wheels. check out someone like Tyres Northampton - they've normally got a few in stock. Tyre choice? Toyos are good - ran these after SO2 PPs and they were nearly as good in the wet and arguably better in the dry (more progressive). I'll try and dig out a picture of my old car for you.

Rolling diameters:

215/40x17 = 604mm
205/55x15 = 607mm (OEM to MY97)
205/50x16 = 612mm (OEM 98 to 00)
205/45x17 = 616mm
215/45x17 = 626mm (OEM MY01)

So, 205/45x17 is the closest.....

Rob,
Just in case you decide you prefer gold, GT1's (ET48) fitted with 215x40x17, I have had a couple of rubs on standard suspension.
Cheers
Allan
