Hi all
i have a jdm 95 wrx and all of a sudden the car has started to make a loud induction noise, car is standard apart from full s/s exhaust and decats but i still have the standard air box and standard paper panel filter, so why should i now have a loud induction noise and why has it started doing this??

I have checked all the pipe work to the turbo and airbox for leaks but everything is ok.

Is it possible that the resonator box in the inner drivers side wing has dropped off, i know this acts as a silencer but can these things just drop off??

any help would be greatly appreciated.

There isn't much holding the resonator outlet to the air filter box. Open the air filter and see is the resonator outlet still there (black plastic outlet...doesn't stick far into the airbox, is pretty much flush as standard)

 

probably the intercooler side of the pipework.. check the intercooler to throttle body pipe, check the turbo to intercooler pipe.. they do split sometimes too the plastic pipe.. check the dump valve connections too..

Thanks guys, check everything but all pipes and connectons seem fine but its still making the loud induction noise.

Proper confused by this!

would the turbo make this noise if it was on its way out??
