Question Found it hard to select any gears this morning...

Hi all,

Got in my car this morning to come to work, started it up & tried to get it into reverse but it wouldn't go in. 1st no good, 2nd, 3rd, in fact all gears wouldn't select.
It felt like my clutch wasn't disengaging all the way.

I've just fitted an intercooler water spray & was wondering if the water that has run through the intercooler whilst I was setting it up has got onto the clutch release arm, which has made it stick in some way. It eventually slotted into reverse & off I drove but the car has never done this before.

Any other ideas like maybe a sticking clutch release bearing?

Thanks.

I would try bleeding the clutch line as the fluid may be contaminated, although it would be strange as the system is obviously sealed.

Did you run any hoses or wiring for the IC spray anywhere near the clutch pedal?

No I checked that & the hose is no where near the clutch pedal mechanism.
