Default Attention gearbox experts

I;fe hada stright cut gearbox fitted in my car, been told the transmission loss is less than a normal helical cut box.

is this true and if so how much percentage wise is it?

(been told normal is 25-26%)

It will be more effecient, but I would not guess to what extent, though i doubt it is that big a difference.
