Hi,
Recently I have lost 4th gear, it appears to select but not engage the car just revs, has anyone seen this before any ideas welcome. All other gears are ok.

You've not lost it. It's sat in the bottom of the gearbox in bits.

On a more serious note, it's usually 3rd that goes but the same scenario..

If it was a selector problem then 3rd wouldn't work either as that's on the same fork.

im having trouble with 4th art the moment which i think is synchro related, it crunches changing down from 5th into 4th but if i hold the clutch for a fraction of a second longer and blip the throttle it goes in no probs whatsoever.

 

Sounds like it's the synchro as you said.
