Can't find waterspray relay in MY99
I am trying to track down what appears to be a sticking waterspray relay in my Type R. Damned thing comes on and in the hot weather stays on... I have resorted to unplugging the water pump at the bottle end to prevent the pump cooking itself but need to track down the relay to replace/fix it as required.
Can anyone help? I have looked in the drivers foot well and found nothing related to the waterspray (other than a loose clutch pedal bolt). The click of the relay appears to be more central or passenger side but its not easy to find on your own...

It's on the passenger side, behind the glove box/close to the outside of the car on a MY07 if that helps!

I will have a nose about tomorrow
If the unit a timer and relay in a single unit? or is the timer unit seperate? In other words how easy would it be to replace the sticking relay?

Success, found the relay behind the glove box. The MY99 has a single timer/relay unit with 4 pins (12v, Gnd, Relay Output & trigger input).
I have opened the unit and within there is a 5 pin relay and a basic timer circuit (about 4.5 seconds). The PCB relay is an 81NH009-N which unfortunately I have so far been unable to source a replacement.

Hi Rob,
Can't find the PCB relay you're after. But this may do the job. You'll just need a housing: MK111 Adjustable Timer with Relay Output

I will keep that unit in mind, had seen it while looking for a suitable replacement relay on the original PCB. I have sorted out a PIC processor program to do a similar thing and have run initial tests on the bench. Got the relay parts coming tomorrow so will have a crack at the final design this weekend.
