Took mine off my Sti V3 and it went faster...
Removed it to fit a V8 TMIC and never noticed any change in driving on track or road.

Thumbs up

I found I noticed fitting of the 4 brace lower front bar than the top one...you feel everything the steering is doing with the lower brace. I also have coilovers and love them...mint mint mint.

Guys building rally cars do not fit a front strut brace. That tells me something.

I've seen that as well, but in that case they will also put in a proper roll cage which extends to the front strut towers.
I would say that the stiffer the springs, the more needed additional bracing will be, because the chassis will flex more. It's not vital for a road car though.

Question

and rally cars are seam welded.
Anyway, I too felt a big difference with a lower strutbrace, especially running slicks on track, but not always for the best.It sometimes felt that it made the front a bit too stiff, so giving a bit more understeer, whereas a bit more compliance might have produced the results Graham/911 felt. I have a top brace on it as well but it's the universally derided Sti carbon one

Personally, I feel the top brace only adds to the stifness if triangulated to the bulkhead such as the EVO design and as said, roll cage cross braces.
