Is there a law that says fuel filler cap needs to be external?
I'm looking at moving the fuel filler point inside the boot area so as to remove the petrol flap.
Are there any regulations that say you can or cant do this?
Cheers,
Wayne.

I know a couple of lads with rally prepared cars and they have fuel tanks/cells in the boot, with a filler neck in the boot too.
The cars are MOT'd, so I guess that is legal.
I'd question whether you can just re-route the filler from your "normal" petrol tank into the boot, but you really need to check in the Road vehicles (Construction And Use) 1986 legislation. May take a while though!
The regulations currently require that fuel tanks must be constructed and maintained in such a manner that neither liquid nor vapour can escape from them.
PM Alyn Stockton at AS Performance (He's Stockcar on Scoobynet).....he has plenty of experience with rally preparation, so he may know the score.

I know a lot of old beetles had their fuel tank in the boot area.
my mate has his on the inside of the door panel, as long as it passes MOT then it's legal!
might get a few dodgy looks, they used to turn the pump off when he was trying to fill up - had to go in to explain he wasnt pouring petrol all over his seat LOL
