I read somewhere that new ages have side airbags, how can you tell if you have them fitted? Ive got leather interior in my MY02 wrx and thought that SRS would be printed on the side of the seats but cant see anything. The manual says "only if fitted"?

Look under the seat for a Yellow wire.... both seats if they are plugged in then you will have

 

My blobeye UK model WRX 53 plate had side airbags, there was a small label saying Airbag sewn into the side if the seat backs. JDM WRX models didn't have them at that time only UK models.

My MY05 STi doesn't have them though and when I enquired at the dealer he said they didn't fit them to STi's.
The new hawkeyes all have side airbags though including the STi.

 

Simple - if you have bucket style seats then no you dont have side air bags

don't worry too much mate, the bucket seats are far more supportive, just try driving one with the flat ar5ed seats..!
