Smile STI 7?

im looking to trade/swap my 2003 civic type R in for an STI 7 soon as its got a service coming up and i really want another impreza, ive seen a few about at good prices with great mileage,id really like to know what to look out for and good/bad points about them?

i know a bugeye PPP wrx is just as fast as the standard STI but ive heard that the STI 7 is very easy to tune to 300-350 bhp, whats involved in reaching that sort of power?

and pretty much anything else about the STI 7? lol

thanks guys

I asked my tuner about the differance between WRX & STi, this is what I got back,

WRX - v Sti is not just the map.Sti has variable valve timing, different cams, bigger head ports, different turbo...With a ECU re flash WRX is max 275 -280BHP, Sti 340BHP.Sti turbo fits WRX no prob and will get you 300BHP, but Sti is really best bet.

So I bought a V7 STi. 6 Speed box in STi and better suspension, brakes, interior etc....

Not sure about the prodrive wrx's, I've read there 305hp in some places and just 221hp in other? What do the prodrive edition have that the wrx doesn't apart from cosmetic changes and an exhaust pipe?

Nice car loved my old one

Same as any newage Check for rear suspension knock.

Sti has a Surtrac LSD front diff the WRX does not makes quite a bit of diffrence IMHO
