You dont need to take off the circlip under the car as per most quickshift fitting instructions, just pull back the lever and it will pop out with a bit of massage.

Also, I did mine just by removing the rubber gaiter around the gearstick instead of removing the whole console.

It can be a bugger to pop the stick back its socket (as described with a hammer). After half hour trying and badly bruised fingers I tried re-fitting gearknob and hitting with palm of hand - went in first time no probs.

If all goes well its about a half hour job.
