Default Boost Problem..please help

Hi all,

My 95 JDM Sti has been remapped to 16psi and yesterday while I was driving it, it was boosting fine. On the way home though I floored it and the boost wouldnt go above 6/7psi.

Any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks,
Paul.

Was it a remap or a chip? as it sounds like either a pipe is leaking or the ecu may be in limp home which drops the boost. there are loads of threads on this in the search facility.

Could be a tired boost solenoid.

I had this issue on a 99 GT. It turned out to be oil in the pipes going to the boost solenoid. Cleaned out the hoses and everything was back to normal.

Try running some carb cleaner through the boost pipes leading the the soleniod and take it for a blast around the block. If there is gung/oil in the pipes then this should clear it and boost should be back to normal. If still the same check all pipes to intercooler for leaks......should be easily visible if yuo have samco.....if not run a clean rag around the start end of the hoses and check for oil.
