IS THIS COMMON, box on previous scooby. wrx was very loose and movement, this sti today had no movement and i found it generally stiff, is this normal or a cause for further investigation,

 

is it stiff throughout the gears and when warm?

i have an l reg sti wagon and was surprised at how stiff the box was when i first bought it, but soon realised it was just a much tighter box with a lot less throw on the gear lever.

mine is difficult to get into first when cold but this is a common problem with subaru gearboxes from what ive read, so nothing to worry about.

that was my thoughts, wrx was stiff at startup, but loosened off big time, whilst sat in traffic, slid it through gears and it got looser but still very tight, i suppose it can only be a good thing thanks
