Evening all - Ok now i have your attention i really need a little help with the following please.

Ok basically i would love an induction kit on my 94 wrx but i dont really want to shell out on a remap etc alongside it.
At this time the block is standard and the only mod is a cat back system and panel filter ( too quiet ).

Are there any bolt on induction kits that are not MAf killing cotton ones that i can put on the car without having to worry about a remap.Also to throw another spanner in the works i have no knock link sensor.

I know most people just look at things in the following order. Induction kit = knocklink sensor + remap. Is there anyone that hasnt conformed with this and been ok with the car having some abuse still.

Any product names, people i can email etc would be hugely appreciated as i dont really want to buy and **** up the car.

not saying it will be safe on yours, but I had a full decat, with induction kit on a my93 wrx (1992 model) I also used quite often normal 95 ron fuel. I did have a knocklink, but there was hardly any activity whatsoever. (never had a red), also to add, I had a bleed valve on as well

As far as I'm aware its the oil that you are supposed to put on some filters that buggers the MAF as well as poorly supported filters that are allowed to vibrate.

 

got a pipercross on my94 uk you dont get alot off indction noise these filters are most probley the safest for these cars done 120k with filtter been on for 70k with no probs with full decat and scooby ecu no knocklink

I run an Apexi IK,decat,revolution exhaust system and z4 ecu and no knocklink and have had no problems.



A heat sheild has been built to stop the turbo heat getting to the filter

 

go for a dry filter , apexi , hks etc . got a hks induction kit on my94 a no probs at all for a year now . i first fitted an exhaust system then the filter just like you have and the hks makes lovely noises ! just stay away from oiled ones like k+n , pipercross etc as they kill mafs even though the early mafs are pretty robust !
