I have had a look on here and as I need to replace my clutch I will do the flywheel too. I was told by a Subaru mechnic that you shouldnt skim a flywheel major nono, but I have read that Harvey (respect scooby know what hes talking about kinda guy) uses skimmed flywheels on his classics.
So on a bugeye WRX what should I do, skim or buy new lightend flywheel & which one to buy?
Thanks for your help

It depends on what you want and how much you feel willing to spend
Many companies sell (on an exchange basis) an OM lightened and skimmed flywheel..... I'd estimate for about £100.
No problems with skimming the WRX Flywheel but the dual mass STi jobbie is basically a no no !!
Job sorted
If you want to go for a very light alloy flywheel then it's an aftermarket item you will need and the price goes up accordingly.
Personally I'd stick with a skimmed or skimmed / lightened OEM one.

Hi Nick
between you and me (and scoobynet) visiting RCMS can almost bring on a nose bleed but the attention to detail beggars belief
I just wanted someone to fit and map (Bob Rawle) the methanol injection and some other bits so I can use the car for the next 10 years as a daily driver and some !!
Especially as I don't own the car yet (it belongs to Nat West Bank) LOL
Cheers
