Don't know what year you have but I can recommend the TSL group N backbox

If You've got a new shape get the deresonator section sounds lovely.
Good price too

Hayward and Scott classic scooby back box and centre section, excellent product, burble sounds great but not too loud unless you rev it hard. I put mine on 10 months ago and still don't play any cd's just listen to the burble.

Just about the right size too, doesn't look like a drainpipe strapped to the back!

Had the Afterburner Vortex on my '02 WRX and it was LOUD - actually became tiresome. Expecting delivery of my Hayward & Scott backbox for my '02 STI on Fri / Sat this week - can't wait!!

What's this about a deresonator section??

A resonated section has a silencer in it to stop the drone inside. One without is just a piece of scaffolding really. The non-resonated is louder.

Revolution would fit your requirements nicely. Lots of folk on here have Revolution.
Nice sound outside and not too loud inside.

I'm running a ScoobyWorld Racebox. Quality is fantastic, really impressed with its construction.

Its not overly rowdy, certainly quieter than a number of backboxes I've seen/heard. I'm running one on my MY99 with a straight through centre section, which is about to be replaced with a resonated centre section. Although the Racebox isn't too loud, I want it as quiet as possible inside as I do a fair amount of motorway driving.
