Hello all,

I just purchased my first Subaru, an MY04 WRX V-Ltd (non-STI). I hear a whine in 1st and 2nd but not in any of the other gears. The car pulls fine in both gears with no problems like jumping out of gear but I am wondering if this is the curse of the weak Subaru 5-speed box about to rear its ugly head.

Any help/advice would be appreciated. I am thinking of getting the car ECUTEK'd but if those gears are weak then I won't chance it.
