Coming from the engine bay of my MY00 Saloon.......

Seems to be when I lift off the accelerator, and comes from the drivers side almost ahead of the dashboard, sounds like a piece of metal just vibrating. (similiar to that of a ruler being twanged on the edge of a desk)

Car has 17" wheels, SS downpipe with Magnex centre and box. No other changes.

have you tried the turbo heatshield ? mine rattles from time to time; if it is then just tighten it up (10mm spanner needed) or do what i do and just give the bugger a few tugs , it works for me !

J - deefinitely sounds like your heatsheild mate. Could be upper or lower - mine did the same after fitting my downpipe but was sorted by Halfords.

May be something to do with brake pipe in contact with bulkhead?

Mucked about with turbo heatsheild. One cut and burnt hand later its seems to have worked. But it wasn't loose, just moved it slighty...

Just in case this doesn't work, where is the location of the metal brake line.
