Imported Impreza hp question.

I was just talking with a guy at work and we were disussing the power of one of his friends MY1994 Impreza turbo import from Japan. Is it tru that the Jap. import has a standard 240 hp and therefore is more equivelent to one of the prodrive UK cars?
