Ghibli Cup Ownership Experience
To all those who doubted and said it would be expensive.....................
Yeah you were probably right.
I have had it about 3 - 4 months now.
Experiences
Very impressive power is almost instant and always there rather than the Legacy B4 which was nothing nothing bang away you go. It accelerates in all gears even 6th. Electronic adjustable suspension has 4 settings, but anymore than 3 is too stiff for UK roads. Cr*p on Petrol but that was to be expensive when power is 4000 - 7000 rpm
All the main electrical items work 99% of the time.
Air con makes a funny noise but this can be fixed under warranty.
Problems.
Puncture which damaged a rear wheel, I did not recall hittting anything so maybe it was damaged before ?? £923 plus VAt tyre £160. The garage charged me the wrong price for wheel but honoured it as I had already paid so £550 plus Tyre. Now that is customer service for you !! You would not get that from that Subaru Dealer in Durham.
MOT.
Front Bushes worn
Both back boxes leaking
Minor Electrical items.
All in inc Labour and Vat I reckon about £1200, unless the back boxes can be repaired, which would save me £800 !!
I am desperately trying to convince myself that this is ok as;
The wheel could happen to anybody ...............
The exhausts and bushes are wear and tear items and these can and do go on all cars. Just when there are only 80 odd spares are pricey.
In my opinion car is much sexier than some High powered 2 litre cars, and nearly a fast - fast enought for me anyway. It has the funny Italian Driving postion and the interior is all leather and suede, clutch is heavy and brake pedal has too much movement on it before it bites, but it all adds to the experience.
When I get the car back I will take some pictures.
