Default Advice/Problem solving?? NSF Wheel noise..

On xmas day, i started to get a grinding/rubbing sound from my nsf wheel, it is a rotating noise obv in respect of the wheel?? & is usually when i am on right hand lock,, it also seems to appear once the car has 'warmed up'
I jacked the car up on sat.. removed the wheel & looked for any obv damage etc, drive shaft, susp brakes, discs all seemed fine.. 'wiggled 'wheel, bearing also seemed ok
has anyone any advice or had previus problems??

the car is a my02 sti (7), eibach susp, redstuff ceramic pads & discs

Thanx.........

check pads arn't worn out

if it happens on full lock could be cv joint have a look at the rubber gaitter for splits loss of grease which would let water and crap in and knacker cv joint up.
i would of thought if it was awheel bearing you would have play in you wheel (top to bottom) when jacked up
side to side movment means track rod end

leave the wheel on when you check this for leverage

Thanx Ian, i did leave wheel on to check for leverage, all seemed sound..

have also thought of bushes,etc..... but the rythmic sound is puzzling me?? i'll wait til the weekend, then drop the under tray to see if steering rack etc is not rubbing. had previous noise from steering column rubbing exhaust, after heat shield had worked loose.....

thanx

You wont get any play in the bearing until the centre driveshaft nut is undone. This is whats holding the bearing tight. Undo it and I'd bet theres loads of play in the wheel bearing.

Made this mistake myself, Jacked car up no play in bearings,Couldnt find any problem, Until i undid the nut and the bearing was totally shot.

I removed the hub which is fairly simple and then took it to a garage to have the bearing pressed out and the new one in. Its going to need a press to do it properly.
