Question Best performance Sports cat system for 400bhp: 3''

Looking to change the whole system I have.

I need a 3'' through system, a 100 cell cat and a quiet back box, certainly no more than 99dBa.

I also want a light one!

Options:
Revolution do a system but the box looks heavy and the d/p looks to be a Ninja and a bit small in diameter.
H&S seem the fav with a bold claim to drop just 2 bhp across the cat system but is expensive.

Others like TSL are 3'' to 2.5'' so no good.

Anyone with any thoughts?

The car is an Sti V3 making 380 x 370 but plans are for a lot more.
I currently have a Magnex 3'' system that weighs a ton.(backbox) but is superbly quiet.
It must be quiet to pass track day/competition noise testing.

Graham.

My Revolution 3 inch system with H&S 3 inch downpipe measured out at about at 96 dBa at scoobyshootout this year so plenty quiet enough, and thats with no cats, i would assume a sports cat would drop the noise slightly.

Can't comment on the weight as i have only comapred it to my old H&S backbox, it does seem a little heavy. Had you posted this a few days earlier i could have weighed it as i had it off to finally put some sealant in the joins!

Ive a BPM Decat downpipe and had the metal sports CAT in the centre section which was legal and id imagine dident sap to much compared to full decat.

Thanks everyone!
Doug: have sent pm to GC8
Not sure how the quick release is done, but hope to get a pic. back from them.
Seen the bloody 4:444 diff they have after all my searching!!(cheap too)

Renno:
The Milltek is fab, but they only do New Age. Saw them at the Autosport Show last year and they can do a special which sounds dear and time consuming!

Danny:
I think AndyF runs a Revolution but a decat.

Trainer: Will have a look at their site now, thanks.

Graham, i immagine the quick release is in the form of a 'V Band' like on the big garrett turbos.

That's what i thought too.
Will be interesting to see what it is like and it might have an adaptor to the turbo, but i think it is for a turbo without internal gate.

The best i can find is the TSL motorsport system, but at about £1100.....

I don't know if this will help but I have got a revolution 3 inch system sat down stairs, so I weighed the backbox using our new electronic bathroom scales, which said it weighed 7 kilos.

I run a Milltek 3" with sports cat in the downpipe. Have seen 400+ on a dyno with it.

Certainly not noisy, use the car as a daily driver (20k+ miles per yr)

They are well made too, just they don't do a Classic version for some reason except to special order.

Hi Graham, I've been looking at the kakumei 3" full system with a catted downpipe at flat4online. I was told it would pass MOT.

Being told it will pass the MOT and it actually passing the MOT are two different things, there was a thread on here recently where a guy had bought a sports cat and had been told it would fly through the MOT and it didn't. He ended up spending quite a bit trying to get it through the MOT before resorting to a standard system i think.

Nope!
Going green. Done the decat bit and smelt it last year from behind, like an old Morris Minor on choke...
Been pointed at a 3'' Graham Goode system which looks good.

Hope to find some at the Autosport Show in 2 weeks time.
I do actually have a 3'' cat but I'm not sure what cell/in2 it is.
Will pass the MoT too!

Terry: Us good guys have to lead the way!
