Hi, I'm going to look at a 98 2.5 wrx on the weekend and were wondering what things to look out for!
Engine is a semi-closed deck
vh22 turbo
top mount
550 injectors
gems
etc
running approx 340bhp

am firmiliar with the 2.0 engine but not tuned 2.5's, is there anything particular to look for or ask seller?

Assuming there are no nasty noises or smells, I think one of my first questions would be 'who mapped the GEMS?'

 

apparently mapped by Steve Simpson.

 

Ask about oil usage, if it has a gauge watch the oil temp.
