Chip or Turbo

Chip or Turbo
I have a '96 Legacy 2.2 that i want to give a bit more BHP. My question is should I chip it or buy a cut out EJ20 Turbo motor and rather put that in? 
Also could anyone tell what cc is a AE82 Turbo motor?
