What is the max tyre size i can put on my 97P type R(16")

How many replies do you expect on a Sunday lunchtime? IT contractors aren't getting paid (flamesuit on).....

And (semi-seriously) whatever's the standard size for the rim width - anything oversized will screw the handling and your bank balance whilst improving your life rather less than you think

 

Scoob, stick to manufacturers recommendation of 205/50/16 because if you change the pro-file of the tyre, you change the overall size of the wheel, so in turn making your speedo slightly inacurate. So it's not worth risking your license for cheaper pro-file tyres.

I've got 16" wheels - but I was thinking about putting wider tyres on with a lower profile... have you got any more tips for better handling for the Type R?
