Default Clicking?????

On the offside of my engine bay there is a little black box which when i put my foot on the pedal say the width of a pound coin starts clicking like mad. When i rev a little more to about 2 or 3k revs it stops.

I read a previous thread asking this and someone said it was the boost solenoid?????????????

But they did not reply if this noise meant it was faulty and or how to remedy the problems.

I had this on my previous Impreza, it didn't affect the car in any adverse manner.

Yes, it is the boost purge solonoid,

Yes, it is Normal. As it rapidly pulses open and shut to regulate the pressure the wastegate actuator "sees"

If it didn't click, you'd have have half the usual boost or serious overboost+fuel cut - depending on which way it jams )
