I've seen the following quoted

£35 for the first £3000 and £10 for each £1000 of cover above that (fully comp obviously)

My question is, if you had a smash on the track and claimed against the insurance, would this mean you would lose your NCB for your normal *Road* insurance ?

If you do then surely track day insurance is a waste of money, I could just claim on my standard insurance ? (as long as insurer is track day friendly I guess)

Confused.

I spoke to Eggar Lawson about this before getting cover for Brands - the answer is any claim on their insurance would not need to be advised to your 'road' cover insurance. As event takes place off the public highway blah blah blah. Thats why I took it out despite being covered under our regular scheme.

Thanks very much thats exactly what I wanted to hear !!

I think I'll also take it out, at least for my first 'newbie' track day

I was wondering the same thing the other night. Thought it would be daft forking out for track insurance if it meant your road policy would be knackered.

Looks like the reasons for staying off track have now completely gone

coming soon, to a track near you: Black Beast, the loudest and dirtiest WRX Wagon in the south east!

Cool

As chuck said, it is worth paying for stand alone track insurance even if your road policy covers trackdays.

Apparently average track claim is circa £6K. Imagine what that would do to your renewal premium
