Interested to know other peoples experience with Shell Optimax petrol.

I have used Optimax for the last 2 months and feel that the car is running better, smoother and slightly more responsive, IMO.

The other plus is that my fuel ecconomy has increased from 24MPG (average over 40 fillups)to 25.2MPG (6 fillups, same mixture of A/B roads and lots of motorway driving).

Are other people finding similar results?

Broadly speaking, yup - same results - took a while, though. The car used to do the hesitating thing when cold, hasn't done it for a while now. Don't get anywhere near as much trouble with the cold clutch judders either, presumably because the engine is so much smoother when cold. MPG varies so much I couldn't really comment on that one!

Although the car is not hesitating as much, I am still having the clutch changed, under warranty, this Friday, as it hasn't made mine any better.
