Question about ic spray

I have a 98 Type R with an inoperative ic spray and was wondering if anyone new how the spray was activated? and if there are any specific tests i can do to track down the fault?

do you not have a switch on the dash? should just be a wire running from the switch to the pump on the bottle, maybe just a loose /broken connection somewhere
